Are there any jobs in the military involving astronomy or meteorology?

i was just wondering, because i've always thought of going in the military, (considering how many of my relatives are in)and i was wondering if there are any astronomy related jobs in the military. i love astronomy, AND meteorology (i know there are some meteorology jobs in the air force) and if you know any, will you please list them? i don't think there are many, if any astronomy jobs, but im just curious. So if you know ANY military jobs that have to do with meteorology or astronomy, please list them. oh, and by meteorology jobs i don't mean like weather girl jobs...i mean like flying into the center of hurricanes to take pictures of the eye jobs. :)

There are many that involve metorology and astronomy both. A few that come to mind are in navigation, artillary, and intelligence. All three are reliant on knowing what the weather will be. Many navy ships in most countires still use astronomical navigation as a way back-up and double check thier GPS systems. If you are in the artillary, weather affects the trajectory of the shell. Also I have seen instances where magnetic and GPS readings were rendered useless due to magnetic interference (this was above the artic circle). Star readings were used to aim with great effectiveness.

Weather is a very important factor in planning any military operation and you will see that most major militaries devote no small amount of resources into knowing and predicting weather patterns.
Reply:My step son recently joined the Navy as an Aerographer's Mate. He will be learning meteorology and also learning to maintain the equipment that a meterologist uses.
Reply:Yes, there are many jobs in those fields. And there quite needed at the time.
Reply:Yes we have our own weather people. they give area reports for airsupport and conditions for training and missions.
