Question about jobs?

I am 19 and have had 3 different jobs. the first job i quit for a better opportunity [after 1 1/2 years]. that next job i quit [after 6 months] so i could finish up school (I only had a few classes left to graduate and needed to attend them during the day). I just recently got a job [about a month and a half ago] and want to quit. it is toooooo far a drive and i absolutely hate it. i stress out days before having to go in. I have left all jobs in good graces but I want to know if this is normal or if i am just being completely irresponsible. any advice? I want to quit this job to go back [temporarly] to my first job (I really enjoyed working there).

Question about jobs?
The main question to ask is if these are just "jobs," or are they the career that you intend to follow for the rest of your life. In career-type jobs, you can get away with one or two jobs of short tenure if they are spaced years and years apart, and you have very good reasons for having left. In fact, eventually, you just leave those off of your resume and act like they never existed.

Since you are 19, they will be hard to ignore because you don't have a lot of experience at other jobs to fall back on.

If you really hate the job you have now, it's going to be hard but the best thing to do would be to stick it out until the following thing happens:

You find another job where they're willing to take you despite your spotty record AND you are absolutely, positively sure that you'll stay there a good, long time. In terms of your youth, that would be at least three years, but five would be better.

If these are just job, jobs (clerk in a store, cook at a fast food restaurant, stuff like that) then don't sweat it. People come and go all the time. If you are a hard worker you will always be able to find something.

Ultimately, though, you have to give some consideration to your employer. They do a search, which costs them time and money (even if it's just putting an ad in the paper, they've paid out money and spent time interviewing). They whittle down the candidates, and they choose YOU. You are happy to get the job, you promise them that you'll be a faithful and hard-working employee, and then you quit on them. No matter what kind of good reasons you have, there has to be a little heartburn over that.
Reply:I would hope people would understand that especially leaving a job for school. the 1st two were a total of 2 years, I would try to stick it out as long as you can for this job, but I don't think it will hurt you on a resume after you graduate.
Reply:yes it is normal u r young, and just getting the working era. when istarted to work i hated to get up ,but i had bills, and now i work for myself ,and work when i want
Reply:I think that as a 19 year old it is normal to go through a few jobs before finding one that you like. I did the same thing and I think future employers won't hold it against you. Especially if you have left on good terms and can use them as references.
Reply:Never keep a job that you stress about going to. You'll more than likely quit sooner or later. Put in your notice and leave. You'll be happier, and the employer can find someone who really wants the job. Go do what you like better.
