Two jobs to choose from...and may be moving...what to do?

I got offered a job at a small company as an assistant. Two hours before I got the call, I went to a big insurance company that my brother-in-law works at and he's going to send my resume out for inside jobs. This type of job will give me great job security, great benefits and 100% tution reimbursment. I've always worked for small companys, and this a huge company, which I would sit at a cubical everyday. The other job that I got offered is for a small company with very friendly people, and I'd have my own little area. It seems like it would be a comfortable place to work. The main thing I've been stressing about is that I may or may not move to another town in about a month. I haven't quite decided if I'm going or not. The big company is only 10 mins away. The small company is about 45 mins. Which job should I take?

Two jobs to choose from...and may be moving...what to do?
no real commuting--no moving expenses= big company--------------V small company =lots of expenditure--as far as job security goes you have the same balance--abig corp.could/would slash you in a second---a small corp might not be able to compete with a big corp and be forced out--tough decision ,go with the money or the maybe lifestyle--your choice
Reply:If you feel comfortable working for a big company, like the pay, and the perks are good then I would go for that but if you like the idea of working for a smaller company and is a bit riskier to work at then you may consider that. It just depends, I would wait until you find out all the details of what each company is offering you.
Reply:Take the job that you most likely will be happy with. The job that you will most enjoy because if you don't enjoy your job, you will most likely looking for another one.
Reply:Have you already been offered the job at the big company? I think I would take the big company offer (it seems to have various advantages) UNLESS...the smallercompany is more in line with what I am interested in career wise. Alll the best!
Reply:I would chose whatever makes you happiest. My mom had the same problem, and she chose the bigger company. As a result, she had to quit because it was just too big--she even had trouble finding the parking lot because she had to switch buses a few times.

Ask yourself: What job will make me happier? You should list all the pros and cons about each job and then decide what to do.

Good luck.
Reply:Remember that with a big company, you are just a number, but if you like being anonymous then that could be a good thing. If you like money, take the big company and build your resume. Having that company name on your resume may get you elsewhere.

There is nothing wrong with small companies except for the small pay and lack of benefits. People tend to be happier and less stressed in a small company I think....
Reply:Hi, I'm a recruiter and I think you need to remember that you haven't been offered two jobs. It sounds like you've applied to the big company and been offered the small company job for real. Big companies have tons of applicants, you may never even get an interview. You can only make your choice based on what's happening right now. You have a job offer you have to decide on. Never give up a job that you would want for one that you haven't even interviewed at yet. If you want to accept the small company job, do it. If you don't like that job, move on and keep applying. That's your only choice, because you don't even know if big company is interested.
Reply:Regarding the potential move, try your best to take that out of the equation. Make decisions as if you would always be living where you live today. Make the decision on employment as if you would be taking the job and would have it for a few years. Deal with a move, IF and WHEN it comes up.

Now you only have one thing for sure the small company. Evaluate that decision independently. Would you want to work there even if you didn't have hope for working at the large company?

If an opportunity with the large company comes up in the future, you can evaluate that decision then. In every opportunity just do whats best for you at that moment in time.
