Jobs-part time or casual?

i am 14 and would like a part time job. My mum says a casual job is what i want and my friends say part time. my mum said that a casual job is where u only work a couple of housr and a part time job is where u work all hours, but my friends say the opposite n they have jobs. can any one help me before i make a mistake. im confused now ????

In the United States "part time" ( also, seasonal labor ) is a "full charge", ongoing staff position. Originally less than 30 hours, the performance and compensation requirements are the same as "full time", including the traditional two week notice.





Casual labor ( frequently referred to as "odd jobs" in the private sector ) would be an " ad hoc" personal service agreement to perform specific duties that would expire upon satisfactory completion of that particular task. Instead of working for the company, as above, this would be at the company's discretion and would not include any "permanent" implications. More times than not, it would be funded from petty cash.





May I offer some unsolicited advice? On completion of these contracts, ask each employer for a " Satisfactory Service Statement", even if you must draft it yourself. This will serve as a " Letter of Introduction" and also a " Letter of Recommendation". Good Luck.
Reply:The way i know casual is when you get called in a few hours a week or if there is a need.Part time would be more structured but has to be less then 30 hours a week.(and i think mum is right)My son is 16 year old and works as casual .I know all of his friends who work they all casually employed too.
